One of the best things about working in the 21st century is the increased likelihood that I will always have a job that allows me to work outside of a traditional office. Although I’m working from home today mainly for reasons having to do with the delivery of a sorely needed new mattress, I’m incredibly grateful for my dry shoes, as it’s going to rain hard for most of the day. I’m also grateful for the quiet—something that’s hard to come by at our office, even though it’s quite peaceful there as well. I mean more the mental quiet that comes with removing myself from the papers and reminders of all the little tasks that have to get done. When I work from home, I have creative space in a way I don’t have at the office. And that is something I am looking to rectify this summer…
